Robert F. Stefanik Jr.
Hometown & Upbringing
Hailing from the rural Twin Tiers region of upstate New York (the string of small towns along the NY–PA borderen.wikipedia.org), Robert grew up with dirt under his nails and grease on his hands. He cut his teeth on cars early – as a kid, his father restored a 1971 Plymouth Road Runner (above), an iconic 1970s muscle caren.wikipedia.org – and Robert spent summers at his aunt and uncle’s racetrack. Those roaring engines and open roads lit a lifelong fire for anything with a motor. Now based in Murray, Utah, he still carries that blue-collar spark with him, whether he’s tuning an engine or just reminiscing about the smell of gasoline and burning rubber on race days.
Education & Career
He’s turned his grease-monkey passion into a career. Robert earned technical diplomas in automotive technology, auto body repair, and diesel mechanics – training that comes in handy every day on the job. For nearly nine years he’s worked for a trucking company, either behind the wheel or under the hood of big rigs that power the economy (trucks haul over 70% of U.S. freightactslaw.com). By now he’s seen almost every mechanical gremlin hiding in a semi’s engine bay: if there’s a stubborn part or a strange noise, he’ll find it and fix it (or at least crack a joke about it).
Passions & Hobbies
Beyond bumpers and underbonnets, Robert’s interests run from the paranormal to the pixelated. About 39% of Americans believe in ghostsnews.gallup.com, and Robert is among them – he delights in local ghost stories and spine-tingling mysteries. He also loves gaming: with global revenues approaching $200 billionblog.udonis.co, the video game world is booming, and he stays on top of every new console and release. And he’s a certified rail buff. Trains have been an American hobby staple for over a centurysaturdayeveningpost.com, and Robert can geek out on timetables and track layouts like nobody’s business.
Role on the Station
At the station, Robert wears many hats and balances expertise with humor. His official duties include:
-
Producer: He keeps the show rolling smoothly (and on time), wrangling segments and guests – even the occasional runaway lawnmower at the studio door.
-
Auto & Diesel Expert: If it has an engine, Robert knows it. He can diagnose that sputtering motor or explain why a diesel belches smoke in the morning – often with a joke thrown in for good measure.
-
Railroad & Train Guru: All aboard! Robert’s childhood love of trains means he can rattle off railroad trivia faster than a bullet train. From historical steam engines to modern freight schedules, he keeps the rails on our radar.
-
Paranormal Sleuth: Ghosts and goblins don’t scare him. Whether tracking down a haunted caboose or debunking a warehouse poltergeist, Robert adds a creepy-cool twist to the show, proving even blue-collar folks can talk about the otherworldly.
