Cody “The Crooked Chef” Wadzeck – Blue-Collar Kitchen Maverick
Salt Lake City Roots: Cody Wadzeck grew up in the heart of Salt Lake City and still calls it home. He’s a true Salt Laker, raised with the rugged work ethic of the Utah mountains and a serious appetite for good food and good times. He earned his stripes at the School of Hard Knocks, learning the culinary ropes by burning fingers, dodging grease fires, and hustling every line from sunrise diners to late-night fine dining.
Culinary Journey: Cody is a jack-of-all-trades cook who’s worked everywhere—fast food chains, casual joints, upscale restaurants—you name it, he’s cooked it. Self-taught and stubborn, he climbed from fry cook to full-on kitchen outlaw, mastering the chaos one ticket at a time.
Italian Obsession: Just like his co-host AJ, Cody’s soul belongs to Italy. Pasta, pizza, wine—if it’s Italian, he’s all in. He’ll talk your ear off about why carbonara should never have cream and why al dente is a lifestyle, not a suggestion.
Signature Dish: His pride and joy? Three Sisters Medley Clams Linguine, a wild mashup of Native American tradition (corn, beans, and squash—the Three Sisters) and coastal flavors. It’s bold, rustic, and just a little rebellious—just like Cody.
On the Air: Now he brings that same energy to Awqua’s Culinary Corner as the color commentator, dropping hot takes, insane stories, and the kind of raw humor only a battle-hardened line cook can deliver. He’s the guy who’ll argue about the best beer pairing for spaghetti, tell you why your garlic bread is wrong, and have you laughing so hard you forget you were hungry.
